Lucknow: Anurag Azad, state president of the Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar and Ramabai Chetna Sansthan, Uttar Pradesh, has emphasised the need to strengthen social justice, constitutional values and equal opportunities, saying that a strong democracy is one in which every citizen is treated with dignity and respect.
Commenting on the political discourse ahead of the 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections, Azad said issues concerning constitutional rights, social equality, employment, education, inflation and the welfare of disadvantaged communities were likely to remain central to public debate.

He said that if Samajwadi Party president and former chief minister Akhilesh Yadav undertook a statewide public outreach campaign with his Vijay Rath in 2027, it could bring renewed attention to social justice and constitutional protection. Azad expressed the view that sustained engagement with people and a focus on public concerns could influence the state’s political discourse.
Referring to the ideals of Bharat Ratna Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar, Azad said the Constitution guarantees equality, liberty, justice and dignity to every citizen. He stressed that realising Ambedkar’s vision of an egalitarian society required eliminating social discrimination and ensuring equal opportunities for all sections of society.
He added that protecting the Constitution should go beyond slogans and translate into efforts to improve access to education, expand employment opportunities, strengthen social awareness and ensure that marginalised communities receive a meaningful voice in public affairs.
Azad also highlighted the contributions and sacrifices of Ramabai Ambedkar, calling for wider efforts to promote social awareness inspired by her life and struggle.

According to Azad, political parties must address the concerns of young people seeking employment, quality education and transparent recruitment processes, as well as farmers demanding fair prices for their produce and greater economic security. Citizens, he added, also expect relief from inflation, improved healthcare and opportunities for a dignified life.
He said social justice must not remain confined to election campaigns but should be pursued through sustained public engagement, awareness of constitutional rights and policies that benefit people at the grassroots level.
Azad maintained that electoral success ultimately depended on public trust, organisational effectiveness, accountability and the credibility of a party’s policies. He urged political parties to present clear positions on employment, education, healthcare, farmers’ welfare, social security and law and order.
He further called upon youth groups, social organisations and concerned citizens to promote equality, fraternity, social harmony and awareness of constitutional rights.
Concluding his remarks, Azad said the 2027 Assembly elections would provide an important opportunity for public discussion on social equality, democratic accountability and the protection of constitutional values. He reiterated that ensuring dignity, equal opportunities and the protection of every citizen’s rights must remain essential priorities in a strong democracy.
